Just an odd thought that I had. Who do you think would win in a fight? Daleks from Doctor Who, or Necrons from Warhammer 40k? In the Red corner, we have the Daleks! These monsters are alien mutants, encased inside the metal tanks you see above, attempting to "EX-TER-MIN-ATE!" all life in the galaxy, and armed with a manipulator arm, a powerful death ray that can kill or destroy most anything, as well as many other interesting weapons and tech like a force field that can disperse most projectiles or energy weapons, and the ability to hover and fly through a vacuum. And in the Blue corner, we have the Necrons! These beasts are the undead essences of the long dead necrontyr race, encased in living metal bodies, armed with deadly gauss flayer weapons that strip things apart at the atomic level, and are charged by the star gods to wipe out all life in the galaxy, even down to the last bacterium. Even when destroyed, their desire to kill is so strong that they'll sometimes pick themselves up and keep going.

I'd have to go with the living dead terminator zombies bent on the destruction of all life.

Yeah, I'm going to go with the Necrons. Especially since they have combined arms capability.

Yeah, though the Daleks are scary and awesome the Necrons are more scary and more awesome.
Besides if nothing else the Necrons have Nightbringer, something tells me, awesome though the Daleks are, they would have a hard time killing a C'Tan... a C'Tan that represented death.

The Space Marines can! Of course, the Daleks aren't the Astartes...

Frankly, I'm reminded of a line from the 2nd season finale of the new Dr. Who series, the episode called "Doomsday" when the Daleks and the Cybermen faced off.
"YOU WOULD DESTROY FIFTY-MILLION CYBERMEN WITH 4 DALEKS?"
to which the Dalek Supreme of the Cult of Skaro, Dalek Sec responds:
"WE WOULD DES-TROY FIFTY-MILLION CYBER-MEN WITH ONE DAL-EK!"
And after that, the 4 Daleks proceeded to wipe the floor with the Cybermen, which is to say nothing of the millions of Daleks that emerged from the Genesis Ark later. Much carnage, and lot of collateral damage ensued. But I digress...
Of course, the Necron's and the star gods are a point in their favor. But, as a counter for the Dalek side... they're only afraid of The Doctor.

Mmm, perhaps, but I think they would learn to fear the Nightbringer. That was a good episode but Cybermen have... I dunno some lazer gun or something... not a weapon that breaks down your atoms and rips them away. Also Cybermen are partly organic... and therefore can't stand back up after getting killed. Ah and let's not forget the Pariahs who radiate a feeling of fear. Edit edit edit: Of course everything might change if the Necrons were to run into this Dalek

Why would a random *-tan end a sentence with desu, other than total weeabooification?
Unit-for-unit, Daleks would win. Buuut, Daleks would cost more points to field: You'd need a greater number of necrons to defeat a given number of daleks.
EDIT: Unless you mean old-series daleks, in which case, the necrons would just have stairs = instant victory

I dunno man, have you ever seen a Dalek fire against something competely unorganic? Their death rays kill living things, Necrons are however not alive... at all. Any precedence on Daleks being able to kill the non-organic?

Time travel has never helped against the Doctor

I suppose they could travel back in time to whenthe Necrontyr where still living and weren't allied with the stargods but... that's being kinda cheap.

Is it possible to travel to before your race existed? I think the Necrons massively outdate the Daleks

True, but, like I said bringing time travel in is kinda cheap.
