Switch mused to himself as he watched Liore walk away from Thelmore. From his vantage point in the roof above the alley, he'd seen - and heard - everything that the two elves had talked about. He was especially interested in the Sim'Aldar. He hadn't known or cared before about which elf races were extinct or not (too many subcultures of pointy-ears to warrant keeping track of, he'd always thought) but knowing that there was member a presumed extinct race about... well, he figured, the information should be worth a fair bit of money to somebody. Hopefully. If not... what was one pointy ear more or less?
Still, there was something about the adventuring elf, the Tor'elar, that struck him as odd. Like he was hiding something. And when people hid something, it usually meant that they were hiding something valuable or something that they would pay good money to keep from being public knowledge. Either way, it meant more gold for Switch.
Turning back to the entrance of the square, he saw the human girl at the fountain eating her pie. Nothing more than an apprentice something or other, he thought. There was no way that she could've known the value of the two elves. No way.
The sun was setting, the last rays of sunlight escaping from behind the mountains off in the distance. Switch smiled to himself, and headed to "thief's highway," what he called the section of interconnecting roofs that wound its way this way and that all over the city. He'd deal with the other problems later. Now, it was getting dark - and that meant it was time to make some real money.

((Nope, come on in! And Thea was at the entrance to the alleyway, not at the fountain, m'dear Author. Just to clarify))
Thea stood, licking the gravy from her sticky fingers and wiping them on her apron. A slight flicker on the rooftop drew her attention, but she shook her head, assuming it was just another silly pidgeon. She watched the elf stalk away from the other man, and felt a jolt in her stomach. The late afternoon light just glanced across another finely-boned face with pale eyes and pointed ears. It took her a moment to realize that the elf was stalking towards HER. With a faint squeak, she did everything she could to look more presentable, from sucking on her still brown fingers to smoothing back her curls and slapping the snood back on, from smoothing her face with her palms to pinching her cheeks to make them more ruddy. She behaved as thought preparing herself to meet a high-ranking official, not a grubby wanderer who, minutes previously, she'd offered her sopping apron to.

Rysela let out another loud laugh as she watched the woman who had tried to help the Elf suddenly start rushing to clean herself up. While watching, she noticed the sun beginning to set and sighed. She realized now might be a good idea to find an inn of some sort, and began scanning the buildings in search of one, spotting a promising building across the way, the one that the two men who had accosted the Elf had emerged from. Rather than heading directly over though, she decided to stay and see what this girl would do. It was too amusing for her to leave just yet.

As he walked, he spotted movement in the corner of his eye, and he paused, drawing his foot back to stand still, his gaze locked on whatever it was he saw. He reached for the sword, but it would not draw, it seemed to be stuck, and his hand just slipped from the hilt. Oh come on!! He grumbled to himself, but he finally got a good look at the person there, and realized it was the girl from before.
"...?" He blinked, trying to recal her name.."er....um...Thea, was it?" He asked curiously, his head tilting just a bit, the motion amplified by his long ears.

"Ah! Err, yes, sir Liore... Yes, I'm Thea... m-Matthea, but just Thea if you wish so..." she dropped a hasty curtsey. "I ah, I was wondering if you needed help... I mean, you're new around here and all, and... well, I know this town back to front, alehouses to bonesetters to the dock... If you need help finding summat or..." she dropped another curtsey, almost in apology.

He gave a weak smile, rather overwhelmed by her royal treatment. "Err...Well I only really need to find a bowyer, and maybe an Inn?" He ran his hand over his head again, feeling his ears, remembering that he'd definitely need a headwrap or something. "By the by..you wouldn't happen to know where I could get a scarf or three?" He offered another nervous grin. "It's kinda chilly."
((short too.))

"Wanta hide those ears, hmm?" She grinned, suddenly relaxing. Being of help to someone always made her more at ease. "The local bowyer is my uncle, and I know the Innkeeps pretty well." She began to lead the way back to the fountain, humming softly to herself.

He followed curiously behind Thea, Surveying the town's buildings for the first time since he got here. He made a face, the buildings didn't much interest him. He was more akin to the backalley gamblers, and the sack of thieved gold wasn't getting any lighter. He figured he should treat himself to at least something. Perhaps a state-of-the-art hunter's bow, a metal quiver and a new bundle or thorium tipped arrows, some hot food, ....a mixed drink...
"So erm...About that scarf..." He said quietly, coughing into his fist lightly, catching a glance at the fountain.

Silius and Oscar had made their way back into the Inn, The Plucked Goose, and were setting up for what was promising to be a lucretive night. Both of them sat at a far table, chatting amiable and watching as the patrons got more and more drunk. "Looks like another good night Silius." Oscar told his friend. "Oh, aye, just make sure not ta mess up yer part then will ya?" Silius scolded his friend. "'ey! I was having a bad nights all!" "Right, well next time make sure you win the first two games. I 'ave to look like a drunken fool to get more men to foolishly bet against me. Anyways, I think this is our last night at this Inn... maybe even in this town... the townspeople are starting to get to know us." "Awww, but I like this place, I mean by the Gods! We got to see an Elf!" "I know, I know, but you want more money don't you? I, fer one, don't want to go back to being a street urchin, begging to eat." "Yah, yah, alright you win, last night. Should we get started?" "Not yet, give it a bit more time."
OOC: Sorry that took so long... my hand is feeling funny, might be getting carpel tunnel or something ><... or maybe my hand is just feeling funny.

"Ah, well, I've got..." she stopped at the fountain to pick up her basket and pulled out a long dark sash. "It's a little soft and feminine, but... will it do for now?" She asked timidly. Mentally, she was ticking off some of the better inns around town. Looking about, she decided the bowyer could wait, for The Plucked Goose -- the best choice for an inn anywhere in town -- was just outside the market square.

A smirk adorned his face as he took hold of the scarf, rubbing the soft fleece...or was it flanel?...cloth between his fingers. "This'll do," He said, as he wrapped it around his head, just at his eyebrows so it was worn low, and tied it in the back, so it looked more like a wide bandana.
He tucked his ears one by one under the cloth. It looked and felt awkward to him, but it was also discreet, and warm. He tossed the look tails of the cloth behind his head, and offered a sort of cheesy grin and pose to her. "So. How do I look?"

As Rysela watched, a yawn suddenly overcame her, and she realized that she was still exhausted from her trip to this town. Sighing, she finally moved from her place against the wall and headed over to the Inn, passing by the girl and the Elf as she did, chuckling softly to herself as she passed. Reaching the Inn, she pushed inside and bought herself a room for the night, heading up to deposit most of her weapons...her greatsword, her battleaxe, and her mace. Leaving only her longsword on her right hip and her shortsword on her lower back, she headed back downstairs for a nice drink, seating herself at a table out of the way, examining the other patrons as she sipped her drink.
