I play GW:Factions and find it quite good, however, for all you oldies from the Urban Dead days, I would greatly suggest Nexus Wars (Google It)

i don't play MMORPG's much anymore, but one that i played for a long time was Ragnarok Online ( on the private servers ) i can only hope that i'm not slaughtered by raving fans when i say that maybe the mmorpg is beating a dead horse until the bones turn to dust? ( 5 games for pc, 3-4 for gamecube, 4 for ps2, 4+ for xbox and xbox 360..., like 10 different dvd sets ) p.s. i'm signing up for the beta as well, i'm to much of a fanboy too miss it

Which MMORPG? The Lord of the Rings one?
And if that is the case, then no, it really isn't.
By your logic, Star Wars would be a prime example of "beating a dead horse until the bones turn to dust."
What, 100+ books, they've remade the original 3 movies like...4 times. There are now six movies. There has to be like 50+ games spanning every console imaginable. Star Wars has spawned its own religion for christ's sake. And look at them, they are still going, and going, and going. Its like that damn energizer bunny. I'm not saying this is a bad thing, I like Star Wars, but if that's not "beating a dead horse until the bones turn to dust" I don't know what is. =P
Also: Ragnarok Online owned. Until it got boring. I played on the public servers though.

star wars got beaten to death a long time ago, but at least the book series still has some life in it ( the continued storyline at least ) and yes, the LOTR beta is the one i'm talking about

Yes, but if we keep looking at Star Wars, obviously their "beating the dead horse" strategy is working quite well. People continue to buy the games, enough people bought the DvDs for them to release MORE DvDs of them. The 3 new movies made an insane amount of money. So, it works, from that perspective. So far, it seems to be working with Lord of the Rings too. So even though it may be kind of redundant or however you want to say it, if it works...why not do it? The entire point is to make money. After all, this is a capitalist society.
Edit: And if you really want to talk about beating a dead horse, how about Moog and that chicken? I mean damn. =P
(Not saying its a bad thing.)

Coming in a little late.
I've got two MMOs I'm looking forward to:
Warhammer Online: Because I'm a sad, sad fanboy of all things warhammer. That and punting little goblins with a dwarf and then taking a swig of Bugman's Best really appeals to me. As does running in to battle preaching the word of Sigmar from my fancy little "Life of Sigmar" book I have, all while smashing the foul forces of Chaos with a big hammer of smity!
Huxley: An MMOFPS done right? One can dare to hope! Also being able to play against the X-Box livers and kick there asses with my mouse and keyboard... *sighs* ahh... it gives me shivers just thinking about it. Poor, poor, xbox users... ^.^
